Massage Therapy

LEE WALDER

Hi! My name is Lee .

Born and raised in Toronto, I have been practicing massage therapy in Montreal since 2019.

I first learned to work with my hands as a carpenter, later developing a talent for healing touch in dance school. I hold a BA(Hons) in Contemporary Dance from the University of Winnipeg/The School of Contemporary Dancers, where I started massaging friends and colleagues while still studying. Learning to care for my body proved particularly useful as I combined my performance career with work in hospice homes and the service industry. After a back injury, I transitioned to working behind a bar in Toronto's West End. This is when I completed 2200 hours of rigorous Massage Therapy training offered at Kikawa College, Toronto.

With years of training and practical experience, I have mastered the following treatments:

Relaxation

Elbow massage

Lymphatic drainage (the gentle kind that is backed by medical research)

Pressure points

Cranial massage

Postural Myo-fascia therapy

Swedish massage in combination with active assisted stretching, is often referred to as stretching therapy.

Reflexology

Chair Massage

Unsure? Try a Head & Shoulder or Reflexology treatment.

I provide full linen and draping services, keeping you covered and comfortable at all times.

At Gymnase, I look forward to helping you meet your physical goals, with a balance of exercise and hands-on treatment. I also offer at-home and corporate treatments, on the table or on the massage chair.

My maternal language is English. I have a good knowledge of massage terminology in French & can put together basic greetings in Finnish.

All the best,

Lee

- Performance services to help you improve your sport, get in better physical shape, or build muscle mass;

- Muscular and cardiac fitness/improvement of motor commands to help you feel less limited in your lifestyle;

Each treatment begins with an initial consultation and continues with follow-up consultations until you achieve your personal goals. Pierre will adapt to your needs, to make you as independent as possible in achieving your goals, whether they concern the body or the mind. Kinesiology is always based on a psychological foundation, resulting from a holistic understanding of the client. Adapting and listening are the watchwords of kinesiology.

A program will be given to you at your second appointment using the HEXFIT app (free). You can access it on your phone or in paper format (PDF).
